What is Vocational Rehabilitation?
The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program offers a range of supports and services designed to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, enter into, or retain meaningful employment. Services may include career counseling, skill-building, job training, support with workplace accommodations or assistive technology, and job placement or retention assistance. The goal is to empower people with disabilities to achieve employment outcomes that reflect their abilities and aspirations.
Eligibility
You may qualify for the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program if you meet all of the following requirements:

You have a physical or mental disability that affects your ability to work.

Your condition creates a significant barrier to employment.

You need VR services to prepare for, find, keep, or return to a job.

You are able to benefit from these services to achieve successful employment.
How to Apply
Applying for the VR program is straightforward:

Contact a local VR office – Call or visit the nearest VR office in your area to inquire about services or schedule an appointment. VR staff will gather your information and complete the referral form on your behalf.

Submit a referral form – Alternatively, you can complete one of the referral forms (available in English and Spanish, standard size and large print) and submit it via email to the VR program.

Wait for contact – Once your referral is received, it will be forwarded to a local field office and a VR staff member will reach out to set up a meeting and begin the process.
